Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
I actually think this is pretty cool.
I also think that in his twisted, naive mind, Snyder thinks that his moves have been good, and that everyone else is to blame, a la Norv Turner. Maybe this will wake him up a tad bit, and know that there is indeed discourse and distaste for his and his FO's moves the past 7-8 years. Fans do have a voice, and its neat to see some of em expressing their love and concern for this franchise in this way. Good Luck guys, I would give some money, but as a single dad with 2 kids, the army doesnt pay E6's that much. Wish I could pitch in 20 bucks tho........again, good luck! |

It's easy to sit there and bitch and point out why it's dumb to try, blah blah. But it's something. Which is a whole lot better than nothing. Sometimes progress can be made by just making the tiniest ripple in the system. "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing" Even if I don't think it'll work, I at least respect that they're upholding that mindset. More power to ya, mlmp and crew.

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
What exactly is the cause? Is it to get Dan to sell the team; or is the subtext that we just want our other demands met, i.e. fire Vinny Cerrato?
If you or any of us think for one second that a man is going to sell one of the most profitable organizations on earth, then we have lost our stinkin minds. No matter how much we bitch, moan, or put billboard signs up he is not ever actually going to sell the team. Now if we believe that we can be negotiated with and we are just setting the bar high by saying "Danny, we want you to sell the team" when we are actually hoping for the counter offer "Hey fans, how about I fire Vinny and hire a new team president and a GM", then it becomes a realistic battle and one worth fighting. Throwing money at a cause with impossible demands is like throwing money into a fire. You will never get a penny of it back. It is just a bad investment. |

To match your quote with another equally qualified quote: "The road to Hell is paved with good intentions" I would hope that if they do raise the $8000 they would take a minute and reflect on the outcome they want and see what actions they could do that would possibly sway the momentum in that direction, rather than blindly say this is what we are doing. Isn't that the same philosophy as DS? I said it, I'm doing it, results be damned. mImpetert gets a lot of credit for taking this on, and I hope that it will be something he will remember positively for the rest of his life. Kudos to him and his team for that. I just hope the results, intended and unintended, don't end up hurting the Skins in DC. |

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
1. Again, the name of your campaign is "Sell OUR Team Danny Boy" not "Change YOUR ways Danny Boy".
2. If you do reach your goal and you buy your add and Danny does not sell the team you have failed and essentially have wasted everyones money. 3. He owns 51%, he cannot be bought out unles he sells it. There is only a total of 49% that can be acquired through his partners. 4. The NFL owners have to approve the sale of an NFL franchise to a new majority owner. Danny is so bad that they will never let him sell. It's one less team to worry about making the post season. (That was a funny) 5. The last time that I ignorantly bashed anyone was when I was ignorant so it doesn't count. |

2. How do you know that a current minority partner would be better as majority owner? 3. If your true message is "Change the team," not "Sell the team," then why don't you say that? When dealing with the arrogant, the last thing that you want to do is peddle unclarity.

1)He said he is gonna refund if he doesnt reach his goal.
2)Although it isnt perfect, I still think it gets media attention, hopefully national at one point. This will put more pressure on dan than he has now.

My counter argument to that would be... Don't donate then. Everyone knows the risks of putting their money towards the cause. If you don't believe in it, keep your money.

Re: Sell OUR Team Danny Boy - DC Metro Bus Ads
Hoo, I read that part about the refund.
Don't you think Mr. Snyder heard or at least heard about the "Sell the team" chants at the stadium when they played the Chiefs? I understand wanting to promote change, but if that's what their goal is, then just say that. This is almost as bad as the Vikings calling an artic tundra "Greenland". |
