Re: NFC East Champs
No I agree they were not trying to win the game (which was meaningless to them), I just don't like the narrative that it was some sort of sure thing they'd had won if they had tried. They were trailing in a game in which their offense couldn't move the ball in the second half.

Re: NFC East Champs
Yeah I remember the announcers saying the analytics say go for it in this situation... but the analytics don't factor in context. Because this 4th and 4 with this offense against this defense in this game doesn't look too good to me. If I'm an Eagles fan and I want my team to win the game I'm mad in this situation.

Ron Rivera? Oh wait that was us not kicking an extra point to tie it when we had 100 percent of the momentum...... How is it any different for us not to tie the game then? Didn’t hear any accusations though because it benefited your team. |

NFC East Champs
Listen G one. If the situation was reversed every one of us would be saying what you are and you would be saying what we all are. That goes for every Giants fan and every WFT fan. BUT...big BUT ... it did not. So you all have to watch the playoffs without your team in it and at the end of the day you should have won another game.
Not that keeping hurts in or kicking a fg to tie it would have meant you wouldn’t be watching still... Last edited by punch it in; 01-05-2021 at 09:50 AM. |

https://www.inquirer.com/eagles/doug...-20210104.html When Doug Pederson pulled Jalen Hurts for Nate Sudfeld early in the fourth quarter in Sunday’s season finale against Washington, many Eagles players and coaches were shocked and outraged, team sources told The Inquirer. Some were angry. Two defensive players had to be held back from approaching Pederson. Center Jason Kelce and another offensive starter went to the coach to ask him why he had pulled the starting quarterback with the Eagles trailing by only three. Hurts was distraught, as well. Even though he had been told Wednesday that there was a chance Sudfeld could play, he couldn’t understand why Pederson would make the switch, sources close to the situation said. The NBC broadcast caught Hurts on the bench after he was replaced apparently saying, “That’s not right.” “As a competitor, I play to win,” Hurts said after the game when asked for his reaction. “You have to trust [Pederson’s plan].” In many cases, Eagles players and assistants had no inclination that Sudfeld was part of the offensive game plan, and if they did, they figured it had been abandoned because of the tight score.

Lol G1...
10 losses, the Giants didn’t deserve to make the playoffs in any scenario

Re: NFC East Champs
People around the league like to cry about the integrity of the game when it suits them. Benching starters when you have the division wrapped up is ok but making a QB change during an equally meaningless game isn't? Just stop.

Idk man tanking happens in many ways. Usually it is more subtle like players being scratched and they call it a look see for next year. So when it comes down to a team playing a meaningless game they can do whatever they want. Only thing imo that would effect the integrity of a game is if the coach had a bet in. |
