The next COD is being developed by IW, but with all the drama they had with Activision they lost a lot of key talent. So who knows if the next game will maintain the same level of quality.

Dismissal of senior employees

On March 1, 2010, Activision amended its report with the Securities and Exchange Commission to add notification that two senior employees of Infinity Ward were being fired due to "breaches of contract and insubordination". This coincided with Jason West (Infinity Ward president, game director, co-CCO, and CTO) and Vince Zampella (CEO and co-founder of Infinity Ward) editing their profiles on the website LinkedIn to list Infinity Ward as a former employer as of March 2010. Reportedly, a meeting between Zampella, West, and Activision staff occurred on March 1, after which neither Zampella nor West were seen; this was followed by the arrival of security guards at the studio.[27][28] It was later confirmed by Activision that West and Zampella had been dismissed, and had been replaced on an interim basis by Activision CTO Steve Pearce and head of production Steve Ackrich.[29]

Activision CEO Bobby Kotick addressed Infinity Ward studio heads on March 2, 2010 about Zampella and West's dismissal. A second meeting was held with all of Infinity Ward's employees on hand. The outcomes of those meetings are currently unknown,[30] but Activision has explained that Infinity Ward is still "central" to the future of the Call of Duty franchise. Activision has created a new studio, Sledgehammer Games, to create an "action-adventure" installment of the Call of Duty franchise. As of March 3, 2010, Activision maintains that Infinity Ward is still the central pillar of their Call of Duty franchise and this new studio is merely an extension of the franchise.[31]

Further departures

Following West and Zampella's firings, nearly half of the remaining Infinity Ward employees resigned. Throughout April and May 2010, 46 employees, among the lead designers and programmers who worked on Modern Warfare 2, abruptly left Infinity Ward. All have so far declined to comment on their reasons for leaving.

Yeah I'm kinda fed up with Black Ops right now. I've been playing more COD4 and MW2 lately.

I haven't played COD4 in a while, but MW2 is good too. Been going back to that recently as well. For me it just depends who is online. Some of my friends prefer one over the other.

I just keep playing one until I get tired of it.

Basically COD4 or MW2>BO. However, another reason BO can be a guilty pleasure for me is it is so damn easy! My KD is over 2 in BO and around 1.2 or 1.5 ish in MW2 and COD4.

What gun are you using in BO? I am seriously struggling in that game but I did just start and really don't know the maps. I think I am level 13.

Mainly the AUG. My kd with that gun is around 3.25. Not sure it is available at 13. Famas should be available around 13. Otherwise just use an lmg until you get the aug, shooting in bursts of course.

Also depends on your style of play. M16 is good too. If you like running around then MP5K is for you.

Finally, you need to know the maps. That goes without saying, but it helps because the spawns are very predictable.

OK cool thanks for the help, I still think Reach is much better, I just got burnt out on it.

re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

Dragon Age II - Legends is out. It somehow manages to beat Origins. More realistic and visceral fight sequences. The strategic component remains strong.

I'm not far enough into the story yet, but it's got me hooked to find out what's next. I won't tear myself away from this one for months. I'm going through as a warrior now but fully intend on going through as a mage at least 2 times.

Spells are fun.

I think my mw2 kd should be around that, but my brother used my account for a long time before he had one.

I blame him for mw2 and cod4 hahaa

It was fun for one play through and that's about it. No real multiplayer so I traded it back in for $40 a couple weeks ago. The main reason I had gotten it was for the gears 3 beta but now that I get that just for having gears ordered I didn't need bulletstorm haha.

As far as shooters go, has anyone watched either of the 2 battlefield 3 gameplay trailers? Holy shit!!
