Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
The large font that now seems prevalent on all sports websites (ESPN, FOX, CBS etc) It seems they have all copied each others format. Also anytime you
click on a game recap or even look up scores a video immediately starts up with some loud blowhard screaming at you. I don't understand the point of videos immediately running on all pages, annoying as hell to me. What is the purpose and they aren't selling anything. |

Re: What REALLY grinds your gears?
Sorry do not watch ESPN that much. As really the network is untolerable over Chris Berman!

first on the player on any espn page: (ie) Washington Redskins' Jay Gruden on Kirk Cousins: Have to have patience - Washington Redskins Blog - ESPN in the lower right of the embedded video player there's an autoplay on/off thing, click it off, that should fix it without flashcontrol. a second and completely separate option is in flashcontrol, go to settings, on the left side of the screen, go to blacklist, click on site and enter: *player.ooyala.com* and it'll totally kill all the videos on espn when flashcontrol is not disabled i believe. you could also enter: *espn.go.com* though that may or may not work as well. hope that helps. again, easiest answer is just click autoplay off in the embedded video player. |

Websites overusing the term "hack".
Top Ten Cooking Hacks! You're using a glass to slice a mango. You didn't break the DNA code and figure out something revolutionary.

1. how to cut a mango - (i may have already grinded about this). A co-worker was trying to cut a mango and we were talking about how there must be some technique to cut a mango easy. so i youtubed "easy way to cut mango" and it brings up this video from "the produce guy". looks good. i start watching it and 56 seconds into the video he pulls out a fucking store bought mango slicer. something designed to only cut mangos. who the hell buys a mango cutter. why do you need to make a video of you using a "mango slicer"? if i had a mango slicer, i wouldnt be youtubing on an easy way to cut one in the first place. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbWsCISLDho its like some black comedy SNL skit. this mango video pisses me off. 2. starbucks. orig reason i came on here. i order a venti dark roast for me and a tall dark roast for my office blgd cleaning guy. i watch the lady pour half the coffee from the "pike place" spout and not the dark roast. she hands them to me. me - "are these both dark roast?" her - "yes." me - "I saw you pouring it from the pike place." her - "oh yeah, we are out of dark roast so i filled the half up w pike place. Do you want to wait while the dark roast brews?" me - "why didnt you just tell me you were out of the dark roast in the first place?" her - blank glazed stare .... i just walk away telling her Ill be back ... after looking like an a hole to anyone who saw but didnt hear the convo.

When you are in a hurry so you settle for "fast" food and the drive thru lady tells you to go park and they will bring it out to you.

First world problem - Boss driving from Florida to Maryland in a Tesla. I95 closed for 70 miles in SC due to massive flooding so he has to figure out how to get to the next charging station.
