@NickiJhabvala
The Commanders are hiring Darryl Tapp as their defensive line coach, a source confirmed. Tapp played in Washington in 2013 and was the 49ers assistant DL coach the last three seasons.

@Scott7News
Martin Mayhew and Marty Hurney are staying with the Washington Commanders, but with different roles, per source. Mayhew is now the senior personnel executive and advisor to the GM. Hurney is transitioning to an advisor role, supporting football operations. |

Newmark sounds like an excellent get. Also, nice to hear the professional way the acquisition was handled. It can't be said enough how different this whole franchise is now that Snyder's out!

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
glad to hear they're getting to some of the FO overall we've been waiting to see. minor concerns on having too many cooks and the OL coach, but man... that's a lot of experience on the staff.

Joe Whitt Jr press conference. Interesting listen - notable quotes: "We're gonna build the Commanders defense" - he strategically picked different coaches from different schemes so they can pick and choose what works best. Don't expect us to look like Dallas. One reporter asked (paraphrasing) what they're looking for in players and he said he isn't gonna talk about that because that needs to stay in house. Started off strong - emphasis on playing fast and hitting players. I thought it was a good listen.

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
FedEx is no more...
@john_keim As the @washingtonpost reported FedEx dropped its naming rights to the stadium with 2 years left on the deal. Was allowed to do based on ownership change. Initial deal was 27 years, 205 mil, so this costs approx $15 mil in revenue. |

Re: 2024 Commanders Off-Season Thread
That's an interesting move on FedEx's end, I would have assumed any businesses that partners with Commanders would be happy with the new owners.
