I think the Senate is 2/2 on this one. With a 100/0 vote to say MBS was responsible, certainly seems like everybody, with the exception of POTUS, is in agreement there. |

Government offices have minimum age limits, and they ought to have upper limits too. I would think at 80, should be a mandatory retirement age for all government employees - RBG is a great example of a person who should have retired at 80. Maybe in terms of SC justices you give them one 6 year term at 78 which would allow them some leeway in determining when they retire within a defined range. With RBG that would have meant she could have retired under Pres Obama, or chosen to stay on knowing she would be retiring under a different president. |

SO since we know politics are a factor in Justices decisions to retire, they would have some ability to look at the current political state and decide when they want to retire. If you want to say 10 years, so they can make it through a 2 term presidency that would work to, at 75 the lifetime appointment rolls to a 10 year service with a retirement date of their 85th birthday. |

I see my fellow libs are getting mad about 7 million being raised for a border wall when you have to scroll past all the poor people needing help just to find the wall page.
But it's not surprising conservatives have no empathy for their fellow man, that's been obvious from the start. And tbh, I'm enthusiastic about the build the wall GoFundMe. If conservatives want to pay directly out of pocket to build the wall themselves, I'm 100% for it. I just think they're going to be disappointed when they find out the wall doesn't stop legal immigration or applying for asylum at the border. (Trump will take care of that last part though). |
