Sounds about right. Not much mystery with regard to what we were doing last night. Tonight's decisions are uber important.

I'm paraphrasing here but I think you said it would be stupid to draft a player who can't contribute over one who can.

My argument is that even if Penix Jr doesn't contribute this year, him sitting and learning isn't a bad thing. And if Cousins does get hurt again they have a young developing qb to turn to.

This is completely speculative, but I've seen some video excerpts of what seems to be the Falcons GM explaining the decision to the owner (who did not seem happy about the decision).

Florio has his panties in a bunch over the Falcons and Penix, further evidence that the move was solid

That is what I said I guess we had a different understanding of the wording (My fault). Poster I was responding to wanted to reach if necessary for OT instead of taking more talented players at other positions of need like CB. I thought it would be stupid to pass up better players that can contribute than a lesser talent that wouldn't really contribute (or would be less likely to).

Re: Commanders 2024 NFL Draft Thread

I'm fine with the first of the two 2nd round picks. We got rid of some DL so we needed to restock on that area. Still need to see some OL though. Big time. However, isn't the interior already crowded with Payne/Allen?

No worries for us. We surely didn't need another WR.

I don't get the DT pick at all, it was arguably the only position we shouldn't have taken as others mentioned before the pick

Suggesting either there's a trade on the cards (Allen?) or they simply went BPA and will scheme up to use the guy effectively. My vote is trade.

Re: Commanders 2024 NFL Draft Thread

I don't understand why we wouldn't have traded the 4th Dt and a 3rd for a starting LT in the first. Boy, first reaction from me, a real head scratcher, unless we are trading Payne for a starting LT or something that we don't know

Re: Commanders 2024 NFL Draft Thread

It appears he was highest rated on their board. #20 on espn board, DeJean is #19.
Hate the pick as far as need. Would rather CB there.
