I don't know if he will either. And that isn't the only viable option I'd be ok with. But if we made that trade I'd be 100% fine with it. But only if it comes with contract extension with no player opt-outs.

Above is probably more wishful thinking. I hope that Lance falls to 19 in the draft. It's unlikely but possible. Heinicke, Allen, Lance would be sufficient for 2021 imo, with Lance taking over full-time in 2022.

Deshaun Watson is a no go area for me, prima donna who seems to think he should be calling all the shots in Houston.

You just used Watson and Prima Donna in the same sentence.

Texans have had internal conversations about possible trade partners for Deshaun Watson and what their quarterback position would look like in the future without him, per ESPN’s @sarahbarshop.

I have a raging boner seeing that image. Full disclosure, those types of pictures usually don’t do it for me. 😉😂

He’s a top 5 QB right now and is only 25... he’s going to be great for 10 more years.

Heinicke will want some bling if Watson wants that number.

You mean a prima donna because the organisation told him they'd consider his opinion in making appointments, then immediately hired a GM without at least speaking to him? That's not a prima donna that's a justifiably upset member of the organisation. I'm not sure about allowing your QB into such discussions, but ultimately if you tell a member of staff you want his voice in a conversation then have the conversation without inviting him, I suspect any one of us in that staff members shoes would be upset about it.

What else has he said or done to indicate he's a prima donna?

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021

Look around the NFC

AROD - OLD
BREES - RETIRING
BRADY - OLD
WILSON - GREAT BUT IN HIS EARLY 30'S NOW
DAK - VERY GOOD BUT HAD A HORRIFIC LEG INJURY
MATT RYAN - OLD

If we landed Deshaun Watson with this young defense that is only getting better, we could be a force in the NFC for a good 4-5 years

WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021

Watson may be available. The question is whether the team will go “all in” with a monster trade package to get him. The bidding will be high, but it’s similar to Brees coming to New Orleans. He propels your team to the top for the rest of his career. He’s worth WHATEVER the cost.

First, except for Stafford, I do not think the WFT will go for ANY QB over 30. Rivera is trying to set his QB for the next 5 years, not finding some old guy with a season or two left (that means Alex Smith is out also).

Resigning Heinicke is important. He’s a GREAT #2 and he can compete for the #1 if the QB the WFT picks is not ready for prime time.

Alex Smith is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE as a backup. He may opt in for “one more season” but the Bucs showed how to beat him - blitz him early and often, forcing him to beat you with his feet - which will be better next season, but NOT to the level needed in the NFL today. You need a QB who can run 40-70 yds a game and Smith doesn’t have that anymore.

Allen is also not the future.

The new GM and Rivera may simply draft the best QB left at #19 and let him compete with Taylor Heinickle.

Other draft picks will be OL, WR, TE with FA going toward a monster WR to compliment MacLaurin, LB ( maybe more than one), OL.

Well to be fair, That is Watson’s story. I don’t think anyone in the organization said he was promised anything. He could just be using social media to play the victim card because he wants out. Hard to know for sure. I haven’t really been following it closely.
