Ummmm, that was an pretty bad championship game after such a good overall tourney.
Anyways congrats Coach Calhoun, maybe he will retire now Interesting point brought up on radio as I was coming in, Auburn and UConn hold the football and b ball national championships and both are under investigation and UConn actually found guilty this past year, Auburn in the past was guilty( ..http://bleacherreport.com/articles/5...aa-rules).Says alot bout NCAAs and college sports as a whole.

NCAA College Basketball Polls, College Basketball Rankings, NCAA Basketball Polls - ESPN
Vcu finishes the year rank 6th in ap poll. Im pretty sure highest ever ranking for a caa team. Not sure where Mason ended back in 2006 though. Besides guard we are set up to be better next year, and I think in 2 years we could be really good.

Don't sleep on Skylar Diggins. This final is even more surprising than the men's... It was a foregone conclusion that it would be Stanford-UConn. Interesting championship tonight.

Is it finally safe to turn on ESPN again without seeing Jay Billas, Dickie V, or a bunch of 20 year old basketball players wearing T-Shirts under their jersey's?

The women's final was 180 degrees from last night's. Back and forth, both teams went at it. Kudos to A&M for knocking out 2 top seeds on their way to the final with ND. Incredible game.

Re: ***2010-2011 College Hoops Thread***
I really thought UConn would win both titles again...surprised that the women lost. I'm glad to see anyone knock them off though. It's not good for the sport to have any team win 80 games in a row.
I'm sure they'll start a new streak again...not the first time for them.

If its time to lock this thread ill understand.....
"We'd like to thank ESPN," Smart said. "We'd like to thank all of our fans back in Richmond. We couldn't have done it without you. I want to thank our basketball family at VCU, all the coaches, academic advisers, strength coaches, everybody that contributed to this. "Most importantly, I want to thank our players, these five guys behind me plus the nine guys back at home. They proved one important thing in sports: It really doesn't matter what anybody else says." VCU wins ESPY for 'Best Upset' | Richmond Times-Dispatch VCU!!!!
