Re: EA Sports commercial: hah!

So no one noticed she is waering Sammy Baugh's retired #33?
Either some moron don't know the Redskins or they are insulting a LIVING Legend by having an old texas woman wear his jersey

Other than that the clip is funny

What's up with the #33?

We all know that you (justifiably) hold Mr. Baugh in the highest regard. I'd imagine it was either ignorance, or not wanting to upset any current players (with whom they hold licensing agreements) by putting a 75-year old woman in their number.

I'm not offened bro lee
I was just pointing it out.
It caught my eye the second I saw the commercial last week.

Can you imagine Sammy Baugh seeing that on TV tho? What do you think he will think laying there in the old folks home?

Long Live Sammy Baugh!!

Re: EA Sports commercial: hah!

Two things:
they used the 33 because it is the only retired Redskin number so it can't be an active player. You never know when you're going to have to sign a guy on Tuesday to play on Sunday and this way it will never be a guy on the roster no matter how long the commercial runs.
Second, the commercial was made before the tragedy. And, maybe I'm wrong, but didn't Landry land that hit against the Eagles in the 4th quarter earlier this season?
Great commercial I just don't think it was designed as a tribute to Sean.

I figured you of all people would know that Slingin' Sammy still lives on a working ranch in Texas. I doubt he'd ever go into an old folks home.

Washington Post reported last year he lives in Retirement Home in Rotan Texas. His son ran the family ranch for many years but even he's retired and in early 70's.

My hero does live at a Retirement home and no longer does interviews or give autographs.

I have his address and write to him a few times a year to say we remember him as a Great Player and Redskin HOF'r.

peace
Hail Skins

Hey Mike, next time you write me let us know. Maybe we can have a Baugh tribute thread where we can all post our appreciation of him and you can print it off and send it to him. Just an idea.

Good Idea.
I will make one Next week after all the Sean Taylor stuff has had respectful time. That's a cool idea. We can make a big long thread and I will print it out and send to him.

Seeing my current Redskins Hero Sean Taylor taken makes me apprieciate ole Sammy Baugh being around at almost 94.

Hail Redskins Warpath and our Team!
peace
