It's really bizarre. Ron has been a HC for 13 seasons, and only three times in 13 seasons has he ever had double digit wins. One Super bowl appearance that he lost.

Ron Rivera has a career record of 101 - 95. He is talked about as some master HC, a football genius. Supposedly this world class talent evaluator and team builder. None of any of that has ever been displayed here. Allegedly a high character guy (None of us know him so we can't say with 100% certainty). It seems like to me, save for the one super bowl appearance, which may be enough for some people, he has done jack shit across two franchises.

He is probably going to be fired here, but the big question is, will he get another turn as a HC? You really have to wonder, with him lasting this long in the NFL...

Serious question - do you think he will get another offer?

I'm putting 90% odds that he doesn't. 3 winning seasons in 13 years is terrible.

But all it takes is one owner - that's how guys like Jim Zorn/Urban Meyer get hired despite being terrible. I wouldn't put it past Mark Davis or Mike Bidwill getting enamored with the respectability aspect of it - Ron is a respected man no doubt, just a terrible coach.

I honestly think he does get one. I still think there will be a sizeable mentality among NFL owners that will somehow absolve Ron of being a shit coach because he had to work for Dan Snyder.

Re: Around the NFL Week 8

Rivera went 15-1 one year. So Carolina had a crazy good year that inflates the rest. Take away that year and his worst year, and I'm curious what his overall record would be.

I'm still dumbfounded by how this guy landed another HC shot after that fiasco in Denver and with Indy. That should have ended any future chances of a HC shot in the NFL. Dude simply doesn't have the leadership nor personality to lead a bunch of grown men to championship level. I imagine the fact that the GM gave that man an 6 year deal and extended Carr for 3 years sealed his fate as well.

His own agent fired him after he got, then withdrew from the HC position at Indy back in 2018. Just think of his moves too. Dude got rid of Jay Cutler for Tim Tebow. Dude got rid Derek Carr for Jimmy Garoppolo. I mean, why are people letting this man have ANY decisions in personnel?

I put McDaniels on Greg Schiano's level in terms of hated by players.

LOL, you know he is going to end up back in NE . If he becomes their next HC the fans will burn the place down!

That'd be hilarious and it would not surprise me if it were to happen.
