Re: Around the NFL Week 7
I'd keep Young over Sweat. I'd prefer to keep Allen over Payne but I think your right SD Allen would benefit from a fresh start (I'd say he deserves to go to a contender) plus interior DL value can be had in mid round draft.

He's playing great and you keep him, you just don't trade just to trade players. Both can be signed, guarantee that with a solid DC that line would kick anybody's ass

Re: Around the NFL Week 7
This and also we have Payne for more years than Allen, that was my other thought on why I'd keep Payne.

Players are team assets. They know that when they sign their contracts. If they are unhappy but it is not in a team's best interest to trade them, then that is too bad. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 7
No one is saying just give them away. But if a team offered a 1st or 2nd rounder for Allen I'd take it.

There's a lot of taking out the trash to do here. Under DS, my annual optimism meter only went to - Playoff birth. With a new Front Office and Coaching Staff likely on the horizon, I have to reset that optimism meter to peak at SB win. I am hopeful the new regime can make this team relevant next year, but it will likely take at least 1+ to be competitive enough to expect to be in that discussion, and that is IF Sam Howell actually turns out to be the guy (if he's not completely ruined by year's end). If not, then it will be much longer. |

Yup. We had no chance under DS. Now we do. Never thought I would actually be able to say that. Quarterback still a huge question mark for so many reasons. Thank God he seems tough. If we lose as many games as I think we are about to we will be staring at a real early pick. Handful of quarterbacks sitting there. Will be interesting. Can we afford not to draft an lineman in the first round? |

Re: Around the NFL Week 7
The idea of the current idiots trading anyone is terrible. Only the new GM and HC should make major decisions like this. All the evidence is that they would trade the wrong player(s) for the wrong choices. I'm sure Harris won't allow this.

Re: Around the NFL Week 7
I don't think there's any way the new owners would give RR and his cronies the freedom to make those major decisions. There won't be any moves that aren't run by the new ownership group prior to being executed.
