Trade deadline approaching...

https://riggosrag.com/posts/5-trades...f-chances-2023

Not sure we could work all or any of these deals but it's not an unbelievable read.

What trades would you suggest? Who we buying, who we selling?

For me I agree we have a priority for OL and LB help, and trades could go some way to mending those, especially LB. I'm not sure Jeudy is the problem in Denver, but if he wants out why not? If we did bring him in, I'd like to see an equivalent trade out probably with Brown as bait. Dotson still has too much potential to give up on yet.

Do we leverage Young (especially given Toohill flashing) or keep him with the hope of working deals to keep him and Sweat in town? I want to see him work out, but now may be the best time to cash in, rather than see him walk in '24.

Trade deadline approaching...

Jamf and M looking to trade Howell to Atl for a 7th and Taylor Heinekie.

Seriously im not sure I have any faith in anyone involved with this team currently to make a good trade. I still don’t think this current team is ready to seriously compete so maybe just ride it out, keep our picks etc and let actual football people take care of this in the offseason.

Re: Trade deadline approaching...

We better be sellers on Young if we don't intend on re-signing him.

I'd trade Howell for an oil change!

if I'm ownership, I'm only moving players with bad contracts.
Let new management pick their players next year.

Re: Trade deadline approaching...

There is money to sign both Young and Sweat next year. Look at how many big contracts the 49ers have. They’ll be in cap hell next year even though they have $40 mil in cap space. Next year we move on from Thomas, Leno, Samuel, Wylie, maybe Fuller. As for trade maybe JSW or Toohill for a T.

Re: Trade deadline approaching...

I'd look to re-up Toohill right now as an insurance policy for CY.

I agree, but will the new owner?

Honestly, CY been coming on lately. But if we can’t or won’t resign, I bet we could grab a solid 2nd/3rd rounder and maybe an additional one

Re: Trade deadline approaching...

Even though we need to make some moves to solidify our team, I would be surprised if the owners group approve any trades.

Per Keim:

Ron Rivera on Chase Young: "He's done exactly what we've asked. He's done some good things. Very dynamic; he has some explosion to his game. He's doing a great job."

Re: Trade deadline approaching...

Per Keim...over the last two weeks according to ESPN Stats & Information DE Chase Young has the most pass rush wins (16) in the NFL.

His stock may reach its peak if he has another good game this week. However, I think I would rather keep him.

I would agree with this except Samuel. He's been more than solid for us.

I like him, but I like Sweat and Young more and if he’s willing to take a friendly contract, then bring him back or draft another WR to replace him.
