Here's Joe Theismann's take on a few of the headline QB's in the 2021 draft (it's nearly similar to what I said a few months ago in relation to Lawrence and Wilson):

I don't care if he calls me an idiot. As long as he can do it concisely in a couple paragraphs, and not in a post as long as an encyclopedia.

It helps when someone calling you an idiot actually makes sense too. Know what I mean you idiot?

But I don’t think it will be here. Ron isn’t going to overpay for what the Texans are going to command.

I'd also take Teddy Bridgewater, who won in Minnesota before his crazy knee injury, and won 5 games for the Saints when Brees went down.

I wouldn't break the bank to get either (or really anyone else) at this point, but I also think those guys have serious upside potential.

But it feels like we have grown ups in charge now, so we'll see what they do.
I don't disagree with this. Gase has basically rode Peyton's endorsement ever since he let Peyton run the show his last couple years in the league. If we had to take a flyer because every other option didn't pan out, I'd kick the tires on Darnold. Tannehill had to escape Gase before Vrabel let him fly like the proud peacock he is.

Re: WFT Quarterback Thread - Post SEASON 2021

How’s id rank the QB Options

1. Watson (duh)
2 . Dak (Dallas may be dumb enough)
3. Carr
4. Fields
5. Wilson
6. Lance
7. Darnold
8. Jones

I’d be fine with any of these guys.

No to Cam, Tyrod, dalton etc.

If we had any hope of getting Fields, Wilson or Lance, I wouldn't be taking Carr as an option and probably not Dak (who Dallas are likely to tag or resign anyway).

I'm beginning to doubt Darnold is available until after the draft anyway; Saleh hasn't advertised him yet so I think they'll keep him for competition in camp, then tout him if he loses to whichever rookie they pick at #2. If we don't move on him before the draft, I doubt we move on him after, having probably drafted a rookie ourselves.

My wild guess is that Dallas is going to move on from Dak and it is going to throw the whole QB musical chair in chaos. May not happen, but it is going to be interesting if it does.

"Talked to a few coaches/execs around the league. One QB was mentioned more as the one they would pursue. (Most did not see Watson as truly being available at this point)."

Keim.

It doesn't look like Watson is a legit option reading Ron's comments.

I think Fields is a great fit and they like him from what Keim has said. I'd try and move up to grab him.

I fear we will be stuck with Alex another yr
