Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
This draft plus signing a solid LB, puts us in the best defense in the league category.
19: R1 P19 CB Patrick Surtain - Alabama 51: R2 P19 LB Jabril Cox - LSU 74: R3 P10 S Richie Grant - Central Florida 82: R3 P18 LB Cameron McGrone - Michigan 124: R4 P19 OT Walker Little - Stanford 163: R5 P19 WR Jonathan Adams - Arkansas State 244: R7 P16 TE Briley Moore - Kansas State 246: R7 P18 G Dareuan Parker - Mississippi State Fitzmagic opens up this whole draft. I'd love a developmental QB, and wouldn't necessarily be against replacing one of of the mid to late round picks with a QB, but it also doesn't have to be forced.

I like that draft a LOT but I don't see Surtain still being there at #19.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
There's a big difference between a developmental QB and a franchise QB. One could become the other, but it's unlikely. In Montez' case, were he actually considered capable he would have been put in against the Buccs, having spent 6 months with the team. Instead, TH went in after a matter of days of practice. He might make it back onto the PS this year, but I wouldn't be surprised if he's cut and especially if we draft someone.

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Montez has the requisite size and athleticism, but he lacks in some of the most important aspect of being a NFL QB - accuracy, pocket presence, football acumen, consistency, decision-making, getting through progressions, instincts...
I'm afraid he's destined to be a practice squad QB. |

Re: The Too Soon 2021 NFL Draft Thread
Montez looked like he wanted no part of going into that Tampa game. If there's a guy we like in the later rounds a guy like Montez won't get in the way of drafting someone. Either way we're talking about a practice squad guy at best. I know some people love the underdog but man we're digging way deeper into the QB rabbit hole than we really need to.
