Re: Presidential Race 2024
I used to know the argument for the Electoral College which was so good it convinced a liberal friend of mine to change his mind and drop his opposition to it. But that was 7 years ago and frankly I have CRS (Can't remember shit). Since it won't be changed, ever, no point in actually arguing about it here or anywhere.

Re: Presidential Race 2024
Harris did well in the combative FOX interview. She proved Her administration will be different then Biden's and she sure as hell answered question unlike trump when she was allowed to answer them. Face it to the Harris deniers She is more Presidential then trump or any other Candidate out their right now.
https://www.nytimes.com/2024/10/16/u...interview.html Would trump get the same treatment from FOX?

Re: Presidential Race 2024
The Pro trump here and even the I'm not for trump trumpers would bitch and Biden's age and his rally's if there was a misstep or flubbed line. My question to them is why does trump not get the same treatment from the right wing nuts?
This is an Opinion piece I agree with. from just this week alone! https://news.yahoo.com/news/opinion-...080339071.html Trump started off the week at a town hall in Pennsylvania moderated by South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem. Early on in the night, two supporters needed medical personnel. His response? Trump told his crew to play the music "nice and loud". Then, for 39 minutes, Trump swayed while his favorite songs played. The playlist included “Nothing Compares 2 U” by Sinead O’Connor, “Y.M.C.A.” by Village People and “It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown. He walked off the stage to “November Rain” by Guns N’ Roses. “Memory” from the musical “Cats” rounded out the night. At 78, Trump would be the oldest president in our nation’s history – something that becomes more apparent every day. He doesn’t seem to think it’s an issue. The next day, when talking about his Supreme Court nominees with Bloomberg at the Economic Club of Chicago, Trump made a comment about the age of his appointees. “You tend to put them in young,” Trump said. “Only stupid people put old." Trump jokes about family of Georgia woman who died because of abortion ban Right before a Fox News town hall in Georgia, he joked about the family of Amber Thurman, a 28-year-old woman who died after doctors delayed necessary care due to the state's six-week abortion ban. To Trump, that's an acceptable punchline. "Amber Thurman’s family have come out on a press call, and they’re doing what’s called a prebuttal to our town hall right now," Fox News host Harris Faulkner told Trump before the event began. "Oh, that’s nice," he said. “We’ll get better ratings, I promise.” It shouldn't have to be said, but death should never be a joke. It's especially vile when you remember that the overturning of Roe v. Wade happened because of Trump − something he has bragged about on the campaign trail. He has repeatedly tried to obscure his record on abortion rights. At the same Fox News town hall, that extended to in vitro fertilization, a practice that has come into question in the post-Roe era. “I’m the father of IVF, so I want to hear this question,” Trump said when asked about the procedure. No, no one is really sure what he means by that. Trump previously expressed support for in vitro fertilization in the wake of the Alabama Supreme Court decision that threatened it. The Republican Party could do something about it, but no: A bill to protect access to the procedure is stalled in Congress. Trump continues spewing lies and hate about immigrants During his interview with Bloomberg Editor-in-Chief John Micklethwait, Trump doubled down on his claim that a Venezuelan gang has taken over an apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, despite the mayor calling this story “grossly exaggerated.” Then, on Wednesday, he would not take back his false claims about Haitian migrants in Springfield, Ohio, eating pets when asked about it during a town hall for Latino voters hosted by Univision. “I was just saying what was reported, that's been reported – and eating other things too, that they're not supposed to be,” Trump said. These stories are harmful to the communities they purport to be about. It is shameful that Trump and his running mate, Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, refuse to apologize for spreading these falsehoods. No matter where Trump goes, he says something awful. We as a country deserve better than an overgrown, spoiled oligarch who can't stop spouting hate. This man is a moron, how smart intelligent people can follow this moron is a mystery , these people are idiots it is a cult, a dangerous one.

Re: Presidential Race 2024
My hate for trump is real but that has nothing to do with this. Not sure if it's your arrogance or ignorance that makes you say that, I bet the later. You think trump has netter interviews, you don't think Bret Biar purposely or FOX messed up the clip? She caught it and she didn't take schitt. You vote for anyone else it's ignorance.

Twenty-three Nobel Prize-winning economists signed onto the letter, including two of the three most recent recipients. “While each of us has different views on the particulars of various economic policies, we believe that, overall, Harris’ economic agenda will improve our nation’s health, investment, sustainability, resilience, employment opportunities, and fairness and be vastly superior to the counterproductive economic agenda of Donald Trump,” the economists write in the letter obtained by CNN.

Re: Presidential Race 2024
Republicans starting the Cheat early...........
https://news.yahoo.com/news/republic...205305267.html Republicans to press ahead in bid to block some overseas ballots WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Republicans on Tuesday vowed to appeal court rulings rejecting their efforts to block some Americans living abroad from voting in North Carolina and Michigan, part of an aggressive legal campaign by the party ahead of the Nov. 5 election. The Republican National Committee had filed lawsuits in the two battleground states, as well as the crucial state of Pennsylvania, challenging what they call illegal overseas voting. On Monday, judges in Michigan and North Carolina said the RNC had no grounds to challenge the states' election statutes, and found the party failed to show it would suffer irreparable harm.

B. What is Harris' economic plan? Noble prizes don't mean a fucking thing. No conservative would ever win one of those. A noble prize is essentially an award given to the liberal who makes other liberals the happiest that year. If I'm wrong, please let me know the last year a conservative won that "prize" for economics. Is she actually going to lower the taxes even lower than Trump did? Because I have already shown here that anyone in the middle or lower (outside of basically not paying taxes) is the lowest it has been for at least 30 years. Is she going to lower it even further? Of course not. She, like all democrats, use phrases like "fair share", but never put any actual definitions on it.

A) It has nothing to do with Brett Baier, where did I say it does? B) WOW so you know more about trumps Tax plain then not one World Famous Nobel winner in Economics, no you know more than 23 of them. Do you know what a moron you sound like , did you even READ THE LINK? Hell no becuase you're late night drunk posting again. Admit it, you know nothing. https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/23/polit...lan/index.html The letter is intentionally brief at just 228 words, which reflects both an effort to secure consensus across a broader spectrum of economists and a desire to elevate that consensus with precision, according to a person familiar with the process. The letter was drafted to incorporate feedback from the initial effort. It also marked an effort in the final days of the campaign to elevate what those involved viewed as an acute risk posed by Trump both in his economic proposals, but also, in their view, of the potential instability he would pose in an area where certainty and stability are paramount. The letter points to Trump’s tariff and tax policies as inflationary and likely to balloon the federal deficit – a widely held view among economists. But it also issues a stark warning. “Among the most important determinants of economic success are the rule of law and economic and political certainty, and Trump threatens all of these,” the economists write. Despite the warnings and forecasts from economists across the political spectrum, Trump has been steadfast in his pledge to wield threats of sweeping tariffs as a cornerstone of his economic agenda.

I didn't say anything about Trump's plan. On that note, I do need to read-up more on the exact effects of tariffs. I'm not really for or against them right now. Don't know enough about them to make a decision on them. Not going to vote for Kamala over tariffs though. Also, Biden has kept most of the same tariffs as Trump implemented. Did Kamala say she was going to get rid of all of them? On one hand she keeps trying to say she's the "change" candidate then on the other hand has said she wouldn't do anything different than Biden. So who knows? https://taxfoundation.org/blog/biden-trump-tariffs/ "Accordingly, since they were imposed, the trade war tariffs have raised customs duties collections by around $233 billion through March 2024. Of that $233 billion, just $89 billion was collected during the Trump administration. The remaining $144 billion has been collected during the Biden administration." Lastly, the fact that Paul Krugman has a Nobel Peace Prize says all I need to know about the value of that award. And 23 is not some amazing number. There are hundreds if not thousands of economists in the USA. Not very hard to find 23 mostly, if not all professors (whom hopefully we can admit are predominantly liberal), to sign that.
