Truthfully, 95% of that was Trump leading the charge on a full on insurrection and continually lying about the results of the election. He was already prepping his base for election lies even prior to the election. He repeatedly told them over and over again that if he lost the election, it would be because it was stolen from him or it was rigged. He did the same thing in 2016. There has never been a President that has been so damaging to our democracy than Donald Trump. Sadly, the conservative media helped him perpetrate those lies as well, which is why they are losing lawsuits. Another big difference between now and then is social media. Now, we see everybody's reactions even when we don't want to.

https://news.yahoo.com/gma/trumps-bu...174812805.html ABC News Trump's businesses received millions from foreign entities during his presidency, House report says Former President Donald Trump's businesses received millions of dollars from foreign entities located in 20 different countries during his presidency, according to a new report released Thursday by Democrats on the House Oversight committee. The top Democrat on the Oversight Committee, Rep. Jamie Raskin, released the report and provided documents from Trump's former accounting firm that show that 20 governments, including China and Saudi Arabia, paid at least $7.8 million during Trump's presidency to business entities that included Trump International Hotels in Washington, D.C., and Las Vegas, and Trump Towers in New York

Reuters
Judges skeptical of Trump's immunity claim in election subversion case https://news.yahoo.com/trump-expecte...110852618.html Trump looked on as his legal team sought to convince a panel of three judges that former presidents should not be prosecuted for actions they took in office. Trump is due to go to trial in March on federal charges of election subversion. The judges reacted skeptically to that argument. "You're saying a president could sell pardons, could sell military secrets, could tell SEAL Team Six to assassinate a political rival?" Judge Florence Pan asked Trump lawyer D. John Sauer Sauer said that a former president could be charged for such conduct only if first impeached by the House of Representatives and convicted in the Senate. Trumps own lawyers admits he can be tried criminally! JHC what a bunch of fucking morons!

Re: trump the Criminal
I want a trump supporter here to explain this and why this is okay?
https://www.businessinsider.com/dona...-ivanka-2024-2 A PAC controlled by Donald Trump paid millions of dollars to a law firm representing Ivanka Trump. Firms representing Ivanka in the NY Attorney General's lawsuit over the Trump Org's finances got $2.3 million last year. Another law firm repping Trump family members got more than $5 million. A political fundraising group controlled by Donald Trump has spent millions of dollars on law firms representing his adult children for their personal legal problems. The group, called Save America PAC, spent a combined $2.3 million in 2023 for two law firms that represented Ivanka Trump, his eldest daughter, according to a Business Insider review of Federal Election Commission records. The PAC spent an additional $5.3 million on the law firm Robert & Robert, which represented his three eldest children — Ivanka Trump, Eric Trump, and Donald Trump, Jr. — as well as the Trump Organization in an array of lawsuits

Re: trump the Criminal
I think Trump supporters have made it perfectly clear that they are fine with any crimes he has committed or intends to commit in the future. As long as it's "their" guy, they don't give a fuck.

Re: trump the Criminal
But 70 million people are not all dumb. My best friend is not dumb but he has taken the bait. The right wing propaganda machine is very strong It has convinced millions and millions of smart people of things that have been proven over and over again in the courts were simply not true.
I am convinced they will be studying the Trump Cult in classes in the future for the rest of time. His supporters will appear like the Joe McCarthy supporters we learned about in school. However Trump was far more damaging than even Joe McCarthy. |

Re: trump the Criminal
Trump legal news brief: Trump can’t get a loan to pay $464 million bond in fraud case, his lawyers say
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-legal-n...190558285.html Former President Donald Trump’s lawyers tell a New York appeals court that he faces “insurmountable difficulties” in securing the $464 million bond from lenders, which he is required to pay as he appeals the judgment in his financial fraud civil trial. Trump is also asking the court to lower the amount he must pay while he appeals the case. Here are the latest legal developments facing the presumptive Republican presidential nominee for 2024. Trump’s lawyers told a New York appeals court that the former president had approached 30 underwriters to try to secure the $464 million bond required for him to proceed with his appeal of Engoron’s judgment in the financial fraud trial, but none had agreed to lend him the money

Re: trump the Criminal
Really good Article here from someone who was close to Trump.
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-biograp...074909915.html Trump Biographer Busts Trump's Biggest Myth About Himself Wide Open Donald Trump biographer Tim O’Brien on Wednesday laid bare the facade of the former president as a business guru. O’Brien, appearing on MSNBC’s “Deadline: White House,” reflected on the former president’s yearslong practice of “stripping average folks from their paychecks” after The New York Times reported that more than $100 million of Trump’s legal fees had been paid from money fundraised off his peddling of 2020 election lies. Trump’s Atlantic City casino business “busted average working class folks on the premise that maybe they get rich,” O’Brien recalled. “Of course, some of them were going there for fun, but a larger sort of mojo of the business was selling a false dream to these folks.” The four-times-indicted presumptive GOP nominee’s “Art Of The Deal” book was “meant to be a Bible about how to be successful in business, when in the real world he’s a serial bankruptcy artist,” he continued. Trump presented himself on his NBC business reality show “The Apprentice” as an “entrepreneurial guru to the masses and the hardest working corporate executive when in fact he’s lazy, he plays golf most of the time and he’s not particularly bright,” O’Brien explained. Trump later monetized his presidency “whether it’s his hotel near the White House or now, in a really grand mal, grotesque way, taking campaign finance donations and using to pay his personal legal bills,” he added.
