My only thing with Roman is that I don't want a situation where your QB is your main RB. We have way too much talent at RB to be doing that foolishness. I also think Howell would not be too quick to run the ball. I believe Keim said that he saw a difference between the preseason game and the Cowpukes game in terms of Howell being more patient in the pocket.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
Really? I didn't even know he was on their list. Did he interview or is he scheduled? I have seen where some think he would fit here, but I haven't actually seen anything that indicates RR is interested.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
I think the thing you have to remember about Roman is the offence in Baltimore was built like that because of Lamar, not the other way around. It does not mean he can't run a more traditional offence, in fact it speaks to his ability to tailor his scheme to the players he has which was lacking in Washington the last couple of years.

Out of all the names mentioned, Greg Roman would be my #1 choice. I'm just not sure he's even in the mix. Haven't seen anything to suggest that.

He seems pretty well-respected around the league. What he is known for seems to fit what RR and his staff want to do here. The Ravens offense has tailed off the last couple years, but Lamar was inactive for 10 games in the last two years and they don't have the receiving corps we have here - plus their #1 receiver (a rookie) missed 11 games this year. Like I said though, I don't even know that he's under consideration. |

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
So Baltimore with Roman since 2019 has gone 14-2, 11-5, 8-9, and 10-7.
I'd take that all day. |

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
i guess, their offense just isn't very exciting, sure it may be more effective then ours but our bar so low you can baby step over it.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
We could run the most boring offense in the history of football for all I care if it resulted in winning games at the same clip Baltimore does.

Exactly. People are getting worked up over stupid sh*t during this OC search.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
And ultimately, if we don't get better QB play it won't matter who is calling the plays.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
^please no…I’ll take Roman over Lamar
I’d like a QC who can develop a passing attack and get the ball to our playmakers. I’ve never felt like he did that in Baltimore and I think the fact they let him go speaks to Baltimore unhappiness with that aspect. Lamar struggles at throwing the ball.

Re: Commanders 2023 Off-Season Thread
LJ is always going to struggle throwing the ball consistently from the pocket no matter who his OC is. I wouldn't put LJ's deficiencies as a player on Roman.
