The 2nd Amendment Thread
Wow. Going full white power with your memes. As the drinks flow Chicos elation at the verdict that he tried so hard to hide for a couple days saying things like “well the jury got it right based on the blah blah blah” is rising right to the top of his glass. Gtfoh. |

Re: The 2nd Amendment Thread
Doubt it given the laws on the books - at least for those charges. Could different charges have been brought? - maybe but then I' not an expert at Wisconsin law.

Definitely thinking about their family today. Having to sit thru that trial must have been hell. Glad some justice was served yesterday

You... you do know this means conservatives need to stop acting like liberals are more of a threat to this country than Putin/China?

Re: The 2nd Amendment Thread
A federal judge rejected a plea agreement Monday that would have averted a hate crimes trial for one of the men convicted in the killing of Ahmaud Arbery.
U.S. District Judge Lisa Godbey Wood ruled against the agreement made with Travis McMichael after hearing an emotional plea from Arbery's family who was opposed to the plea arrangements with McMichael and his father, Greg McMichael. In rejecting the deal, Wood explained it would have locked her into specific terms –including 30 years in federal prison – at sentencing. Wood said that in this case, it would only be appropriate to consider the family’s wishes at sentencing, which the proposed deal wouldn’t allow. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...er/9282372002/ A Georgia man was sentenced to 65 years in prison for the shooting his then-estranged wife seven times after she told him that their marriage was beyond repair and asked for a divorce. Cherokee Superior Court Judge David Cannon, Jr., sentenced Ronald Richard Goss, 57, on Tuesday after he pleaded guilty to the attempted murder of his now ex-wife Tina Davis on Feb.11, 2018 in Ball Ground, Georgia. Goss also pleaded guilty to home invasion, attempted arson, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and nine counts of family violence aggravated battery on Jan. 26, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/...212653349.html 65 year sentence pleading guilty for attempted murder of a white woman 30 years in pen fed for not admitting guilt in murder of black man * contriteness and admission of guilt are factors in sentencing .. along with murder > attempted murder .. along with law penalizes stranger violent crimes vs non stranger crimes America ... its different for everyone. |

Re: The 2nd Amendment Thread
Missouri’s first Black congresswoman’s car was littered with bullets last weekend while it was parked in St. Louis. Despite sources believing she was not the intended target of the gunplay, the politician continues to receive a great outpouring of support from the community.
NBC News states while U.S. House Rep. Cori Bush was not in the car when it was shot up, nor was she injured, but she is still shaken. https://www.yahoo.com/video/congress...030600425.html LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — A Democratic mayoral candidate in Kentucky’s largest city said he is “shaken but safe” after a man stormed his campaign headquarters Monday morning and fired a weapon point-blank at him. Craig Greenberg, who is running for mayor of Louisville, said he was at his campaign office with four colleagues when a man appeared in the doorway with a weapon. “When we greeted him, he pulled out a gun, aimed directly at me and began shooting,” Greenberg said at a news conference several hours after the attack. The person closest to the door managed to get the door shut, he said. The staffers barricaded the door using “tables and desks," and the suspect fled, he said. “Despite one bullet coming so close that it grazed my sweater and my shirt, no one was physically harmed,” Greenberg said. “We are shaken but safe,” he added. https://www.yahoo.com/news/police-lo...182845926.html Scary stuff. |

Last week, the U.S. intelligence community warned that domestic extremists, emboldened by the siege on the U.S. Capitol and by conspiracy theories about the coronavirus pandemic and alleged fraud in the 2020 election, will almost certainly attempt violent attacks this year. The assessment cites a contentious political environment as one of the main factors motivating white supremacists and militias, followed a warning by FBI Director Christopher Wray earlier this month that the threat of domestic terrorism in the United States is “metastasizing.” https://foreignpolicy.com/2021/03/22...pitol-assault/ |
