Washington Capitals fire head coach Glen Hanlon.
After a very promissing 3-0 start. The caps are now sitting in the basement in the NHL with a 6-14-1 record.
Glad to see a change at the helm. I thought this could have come a week or better ago if the team didn't get on a roll. When the fans were booing fire hanlon last night at home, after another aweful showing.......I thought how long is this gonna take for Teddy boy to make a move. Wasn't long. NHL-worst Capitals fire coach Hanlon, promote Boudreau from AHL - NHL - Yahoo! Sports

Re: Washington Capitals fire head coach Glen Hanlon.
Kind of sad for Hanlon and his family it had to happen on Thanksgiving morning. But then why delay the inevitable and have it hanging over everyone's heads over the holidays. No more excuses for the Caps though, they spent the past couple of years gutting their team and developing young stars like Ovechkin and Semin. Now it's time to start producing.

Re: Washington Capitals fire head coach Glen Hanlon.
Yea, the timing Thanksgiving day is real hard, GH seamed to be a great guy. But just wasn't geting it done, it also appeared he had lost the team.
We have all the talent to be right in the thick of the NHL's best. As you mentioned smoot stars like ovy and semin just returning. But Nylander, Kozlov, Backstrom, Gordon, Laich just have to step it up and play to their potential. We'll see today if the coach change provides a well needed spark.

Well, 1-0 with Boudreau. Unfortunately, not alot of time to celebrate with the Hurricanes next.

Gave up a three point lead, glad to see they could find a way to get it done in OT with one of the young bucks on his b-day.
Nice way to start for the caps new bench boss. I hope they can keep it rollin with another win in DC tomorrow against Carolina, I like their chances. |
