Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Kind of just sinking in, we have legitimate chance of having a franchise QB. That's awesome.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
I know a lot of people were saying Lamar Jackson 2.0, I don't see that but what I do see if a faster version of Texans Deshaun Watson or Randall Cunningham

I like the Deshaun Watson comparison. That's a good one, especially coming out of college. It will be very fun to see what his comparisons look like after a couple seasons in the NFL.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
I think he's going to be way better than Watson without all the off the field bs. His ability to read defenses is bigtime along with his accuracy and deep ball. He is lethally fast also, even moreso than Watson. Daniels literally is instant offense.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
My only concern is he needs to learn how to slide. We know he's gonna run but the best ability is availability.
One RG3 style ACL tear and all that hype will evaporate in about 10 seconds.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
The Lamar comp is kind of just lazy.. He's fast and can score from anywhere but hes also a better passer than Lamar. I like the Watson and RC Comps better

I think I like the Randall Cunningham comp the best.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Yes he does need to learn how to slide. He runs like a fast wr in the open field. Elusive, shifty, fast, and with super vision. He just needs to be smart and protect himself. Very interested to see what type of offense KK unleashes for him overall.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
True, he is a better slider than RG3 already, and Daniels is a much better open field runner than RG3 was with ability to be elusive

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
He knows how to slide, he just needs to tone down the hero ball he played in college, which a lot of guys do

his mind always went i will beat you with speed first not maybe i can be elusive in this situation imho, after his injury in the Bmore game they should have shelved him for the season and if DS had stayed out of it and Mike S and Kyle S were able to have full control over his development I think RG3 would have been Lamar good

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
It’s not the best comp since JD is far more developed as a passer than LJ was coming out, but in terms of explosive playmaking ability as a runner I think it fits.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Jackson ran a confirmed 4.34 at his pro day. Daniels is more 4.5 range although very fast. His vision, shiftiness, and cuts are elite. Think this will help protect himself. Imagine he gets a few rushing tds minimum this year.

Re: Jayden Daniels - Commanders QB Thread
Daniels is a better passing coming out then Lamar was. Randall? Idk, tough to compare cause the game is totally different now. Imo Randall played in the wrong era. He'd be a dominant player if he was playing now w/ the way offenses are. They're totally suited for him today vs when he was playing.
I just think we have a blue chip prospect that has only scratched the surface on how good he can be. He's a rookie so rough patches are ahead. But start him day one and don't mess around w/ MM. You learn best by playing. |
