Doesn't it give you a warm feeling that Danny Boy and Drew Rosenhaus have a wonderful working relationship based on the two clients we signed last year - - Jermaine Haley and Regan Upshaw? These are two of the guys we need to REPLACE if the record is to slip above 8-8 next year.

If anything, Rosenhaus owes us for giving those guys paychecks. In fact, if those two are to be cut, it will likely happen after Portis gets a new deal, so there won't be any bad blood.

I wouldnt be suprised it Wynn and/or Holsely were starting on our line next season, if we cant make enough upgrades or an injury occurs.

I wouldn't give him a new deal until he proves that all those yards were him and not a product of the system, his asking price is way to high to take that kind of a chance on a player who could turn out to be nothing special.

Wouldn't it be highly coincidental if Danny Boy revved up Redskin One early next week and flew off to meet with a high level free agent who ALSO has Drew Rosenhaus as his agent?

i think the guy deserves more than he is getting, and certainly as much as staley or dillion do.the guy is an awesome rb,he should be paid accordingly in my view.

What's the rush? As it stands now, he counts NOTHING to the cap. So we let him chill, and buy some FAs. Then we resign him with the others in place, saying, "Hey, we've only got so much cash here, but here's a nice little bonus and upgrade to tide you over." Then Danny-boy and his team of accountants fix the books, and we're off to mini-camp.
Also, given that Rosenhaus is getting a percentage of some of the other likely FAs, he'll calm down Portis. (Of course, Protis may hold out, but Danny-boy knows how to show the love, so it shouldn't happen.)

Here are a few links to some interesting old articles on Clinton Portis. They are worth a look and will make people who are uncomfortable with this trade a little less anxious.
