Re: Panthers Postgame sadness
I don't hate DH. I don't know him well enough from what I have seen to come to that conclusion. I always feel I need to know someone before I can say I hate them, or have the weight of historical evidence steer me in that direction.
Having said that, I have absolutely no sympathy for him. He seems to me to have had his eye on the NFL as a cash cow to set him up for life with no consideration for his legacy. He opted to go to the NFL with only 1 year of college in the bank which smells of arrogance and greed; nobody forced him into that decision. His behaviour over the last 2 years hasn't been the worst (he hasn't beaten anyone up, robbed anyone etc.) but it smacks of an entitled attitude and a belief that he's earned his spot with what he's done to date (wrong!). If he's picked up by another team I'll be surprised but there's always someone who thinks that they can be a saviour. Swallow the cap loss and be rid of him. Move on and draft someone with all the character traits DH is missing, as a leader and potential franchise QB. I think RR knows that but he'd be cutting off his nose to spite his faced by releasing DH before the season is over. He'll be gone when it makes financial sense to do so. |
