2008 Masters Tournament.

The PGA tour is getting ready to tee it up tomorrow in Augusta, GA. for the first major of the year, The Masters.

Can anyone tame the Tiger? I doubt it.

Your prediction on who will win the 2008 Masters.

Re: 2008 Masters Tournament.

What an incredible Cinderella story, this unknown comes outta no where to lead the pack, at Augusta. He's on his final hole, he's about 455 yards away - he's gonna hit about a two-iron I think. Oh he got all of that one! The crowd is standing on its feet here, the normally reserved Augusta crowd - going wild - for this young Cinderella, he's come outta no where, he's got about 350 yards left, he's gonna hit about a five-iron, don't you think? He's got a beautiful backswing - that's - Oh he got all of that one! He's gotta be pleased with that, the crowd is just on its feet here, uh - He's the Cinderella boy, uh - tears in his eyes I guess as he lines up this last shot, he's got about 195 yards left, he's got about a - its looks like he's got about an eight-iron. This crowd has gone deathly silent, the Cinderella story, outta no where, a former greenskeeper now - about to become the Masters champion. It looks like a mirac - It's in the Hole!

Seriously though, Tiger.

Tiger vs. the rest of the field, and in a tourney like this, you can't help but take Tiger. Don't count out Lefty, the big man from Fiji, or the Big Easy.

BOOM, BOOM aslo had a great week last weekend, tied for third. He's now working with Butch Harmon and it showed. I would like to see him in the mix on Sunday. He will be a fan favorite.

It will be interesting to see how lefty holds up? Or better put which lefty shows up, he could certainly be a threat.

Re: 2008 Masters Tournament.

I don't know what happened here. I merged a couple of threads and we apparently had a bit of a technical glitch. Something Matty will have to look into.

Anyway, let's start anew here

Skinsfan_nn, can you repeat your original post here again? Thanks

Re: 2008 Masters Tournament.

With the first major of the year on the PGA tour starting tomorrow at Augusta, GA. The 2008 Masters.

Can anyone tame the Tiger? I don't think so. He's lighting it up as usual now, right outta the gates. I will be watching to see how Lefty holds up, Boom, Boom is playing great, Furyk is always tough in majors. Should be golf at its best.

Who do you predict to win The 2008 Master's?

Freddy looked pretty good last week and is really hitting the ball a long way for his age. Working with Harmon has helped him allot but I think for the first time in about 3 years he is playing with a good back. I would def. not bet against Tiger but with this event anyone came make a run for the title. I would really injoy watching Freddy or Phil win and would have a tough time choosing who to cheer for if it came down to both of them.

Smart money has to be on Tiger. With Lefty you don't know which player will
show up. I wouldn't be surprised if Fuyrk or Steve Stricker sneaks in there.

Re: The Masters

I really like Tiger and what he has done for golf but those announcers drive me crazy. Its like Tiger this, Tiger that, he hits a 70 yard wedge to within 7 feet and you would have tought that he made the oceans part. They make me cheer for anyone but Tiger but I have to say I love to watch him play.

For a while I felt this way but after watching him some more I realized he really is a good as they say. Or, he really is that much better than everyone else. It isn't that he does things that others can't do. It's that just about every shot he takes on a golf course would be a great shot for everyone else. Every shot. He is so consistent. He doesn't go out and blow everyone away for two days and coast. He'll go out and shoot 66-67 for four days and anyone close to him probably shot 64-65 a couple days and 71-72 on the others. His consistency per shot and per round is simply amazing. I think most commentators are just awe struck at how he does it shot after shot.
