Re: What are your favorites?
Right now I've been listening to the new Modest Mouse album like it's my job. I loved their last one too. I guess I could say their my favorite band right now, but I haven't seen them live or anything yet.
My favorite song is probably either Fool In The Rain by Led Zepplin or Nirvana's cover on MTV Unplugged of the old song Where Did You Sleep Last Night? I don't listen to that much rap but I do like The Roots, Mos Def, and Talib Kweli (Just To Get By is one of the best rap songs I know).

Re: What are your favorites?
Right now, I'm really into Sam Cooke.
I like too much hip hop to say who my favorite is, but my favorite albums almost always seem to be the first from many artists. Common - Resurrection, Nas - Illmatic, Blackalicious - Nia, Wu-Tang - 36 Chambers, etc. One of my favorite bands is The Black Keys. I love all of their stuff, and they are incredible live! I highly recommend them to everyone.

Re: What are your favorites?
Nice Schneed! Good News For People Who Like Bad News (stupid long album titles) hasn't left the disc changer in my car in about 2 years and it looks like We Were Dead... will be joining it.
They're the type of band that I know not everyone would like but I really can't get enough of them. I have their first studio album and I've been meaning to get the others one but I keep forgetting. I can't really think of a good line from a song right now, but if I could it would probably come from the song The View of The Ocean Breathes Salty.

I also love Satin in a Coffin and Bukowski. You were layin on the carpet like you're satin in a coffin, you said do you believe what you're sayin? Yeah right now, but not that often! Are you dead or are you sleepin? Are you dead or are you sleepin? Are you dead or are you sleepin, God I sure hope you are dead! and... If God controls the land and disease and keeps a watchful eye on me, if he's really so damn mighty, well my problem is I can't see why who would wanna be, who would wanna be such a control freak? Great band. Not enough love for the Mouse in today's world.

Re: What are your favorites?
Hardy's Thickburger is off my list due to an unfortunate and rather lengthy episode involving me and the toilet on Valentine's Day two years ago.
I'm becoming a fan of Red Robin restaurant since it came to Roanoke. Back on topic: Another great song is Ball and Chain by Social Distortion. If I were absolutley forced to, I would pick Bela Fleck and the Flecktones as my favorite band. They are the only ones I've ever bothered seeing in concert.

Re: What are your favorites?
No, saw them twice, once in Salem and then Roanoke a few years ago. Victor Wooten came to the Jefferson Center last year for a solo performance. That was pretty cool.

Re: What are your favorites?
My favorite song is tough to pinpoint, but maybe I would say Born Slippy. One of those songs that brings back memories of a whole period of my life with just those first notes.
My favorite band of all time is Pulp. Loving the new Jarvis Cocker album too. Best rapper is hands down Biggie Smalls. For anyone who is into electronic music, I will mention that my favorite DJ right now is Desyn Massielo, followed by Sasha. |

Re: What are your favorites?
I heard that SmootSmack's favorite song is Take My Breath Away by Berlin, but his favorite band is...
... and he runs, he runs so far away.
