Post draft/UDFA
https://www.hogshaven.com/2024/4/27/...manders-rumors
I don't watch nearly enough CFB over here to know how good these guys are, but I like how we haven't hesitated with UDFA signings this year. It always felt like under RR we were 2-3 days late to the party on UDFA's. Maybe none make the team, but maybe there's a diamond or two in there. |

Chigozie Anusiem, CB, Colorado State
6’ 1” 200 pounds ran a 4.39 40. Very raw. Interesting. |

Re: Post draft/UDFA
It helps when you have the 2nd most cap space in the NFL.
It is worth taking a flyer on a player that possesses all of the physical tools and you can coach him up. We now have the staff players want to play for. Small $ price to pay. |

Re: Post draft/UDFA
Peters has, in one partial offseason, added:
around 20 free agents 9 draft picks, about 10 undrafted free agents. Creating a tutorial for how to restart a franchise (yes the trick is getting the most cap space and 9 picks) This team definitely will be different. Hopefully different means much much better. Re: Post draft/UDFA
I thought it was pretty telling (and funny) how Dotson said that it feels like he's been traded - that's how much the atmosphere has changed in 3+ months.

Being bad enough to get the #2 pick was key. Check. Then we hired a coaching staff the NFL players respect and want play here. Check. Now a good draft. The obvious is we drafted solid players. But what really impressed me with this FO is they were prepared. The late round draft picks and UDFA’s are the best I have seen since Beathard/Casserly early 1980’s. Looks like a handful of these guys might make the team and eventually contribute. If so, it has been decades since we have seen that. |

Re: Post draft/UDFA
normal terms are like 25k bonus and 225k, so 50k and 300k doesn't seem like a big deal.

Re: Post draft/UDFA
I think alot of us arm chair QBs look at how can we make this team great ASAP, meaning a playoff contender next year.
Peters looks at in a 3-5 year window; the 2nd pick in the draft illustrated this decision making; he knows the Dline is getting older plus it gives him the opportunity to maybe trade one of our "star" DT there are/were way to many holes to repair this roster in one off season but alot was accomplished if we go 6-11, 7-10, 9-8 and we see some good development in JD5; that is a great year for Adam and company

Re: Post draft/UDFA
Agree. Think around .500 is attainable and get Daniels going. If oline and secondary come together, and Daniels balls out maybe more than that. I expect to this team to improve as the season goes along considering the newness of the entire team.
