I personally would have kept the 3 u gave up for what u got. Johnson is a good fantasy wr pick up but martin and dayne r less predictable whereas the 3 u gave up have the ability to be top 5-10 in each of their positions.

Re: Made this deal today

I wouldn't have made the deal but it isn't bad. Comparing player for player: Johnson has to be a small plus over Moss at this point. McGahee is a potential plus over Martin but nothing there is a sure bet. And The dolphins are probably a decent plus over Dayne although Dayne has some "Dnever RB" potential. All in all I don't think it brought a ton of value but I don't think you lost a ton too. I like trades where I feel I am getting superior value but that also involves team needs (If Miami is your 3rd DST then they have no value to you so trading them brought good value).

Santana was the only starter I dealt. I took a depth hit, but I think Chad goes for 1500 this year (compared to about 1050-1100 for Moss), so thats what im banking on.

Re: Made this deal today

i don't like the deal.

martin is clearly not as good as mcgahee and chad is an upgrade over moss, so looking at the starter increase is nice, but now you'll be competing against better talent.

dolphins DST is a throwaway, no harm there.

Re: Made this deal today

who are your starting running backs? I keep reading that Dayne may actually have a good year, but I think that he'd have to play dallas every game for that to be the case.

Re: Made this deal today

Personally, I don't know that I would have made the trade. I mean, Buffalo has no QB, so Willis is gonna have to carry the load. There's no question he's going to get his touches, however, I'm not convinced he'll have a great season. As for Martin (coming off of injury) and Dayne (not even sure of his role on the team) I think they could both have productive seasons, but I think I would have stuck with McGahee.

Now, As for the Moss for Chad Johnson aspect, I don't really see Chad as a huge upgrade. It seems like a pretty much apples for apples type deal. However, Chad has been more consistent, so I don't think this was in any way a bad move.

Overall, I might not have done it, but it's not my team.

Yeah I am very dubious of Dayne. Since Portis was traded they haven't had a breakout back. Their running game has still been solid but more based on using situational backs. I think their style begets good RB production but if you don't have a complete back then he isn't going to get huge numbers. Dayne is not a complete back. Unless injry forces him into playing lots of downs(he wouldn't normally play) I am betting he does well in TDs but has no better than average yardage.

My lineup looks like this now:

QB-Ben Roethlisberger
RB-Ronnie Brown
RB-Cadilliac Williams
WR-Chad Johnson
WR-Eddie Kennison
WR-Michael Clayton
TE-Heath Miller
K-Steve Gostkowski
DEF-Redskins

Re: Made this deal today

I could see Dayne with a Stacey Mack-esque kind of year: 500yrds with 9tds

Re: Made this deal today

I don't think it's a lopsided trade but Chad Johnson has been very consistent in receptions, yards and TD's. McGahee performed pretty well (1200 yards, 5 TD's) last year considering. Don't count the Dolphin's D out if you think about them playing the Jets and Bills twice this year and the rest of their schedule includes Tennessee, Chicago and Green Bay.

They also play Houston but I actually think they will do fine offenively.

Yeah, I would've kept Santana. Dayne and Martin = .

Re: Made this deal today

I would not have made that.

Moss is just as reliable as CJ.

Curtis Martin is washed up. He's old and injury-prone. I owned him last year...that was a nightmare.

Of course, I also owned McGahee last year which was also a headache. He can't be THAT bad again though.

Ron Dayne could surprise, but he'll still be sharing time with Tatum Bell. The Broncos did manage to have 2 great fantasy RBs last year and should again this year...but the Dolphins D is good. Who's your D now?

You got good players in return (except maybe Martin)...but you gave away more than you received in my opinion.
