True Mod Censorship

When I saw this thread from the forums list I thought somebody bumped that thread about the Bucs forum where all the mods gave out 3 month bans if you broke a minor rule lol.

Go figure that it's actually the same Bucs forum that is basically saying you can only discuss what we allow you to discuss lol. Makes me glad I'm not a Bucs fan, I'd be pissed as hell if the mods tried to do that at a site I regularly go to.

I also find both of those reasons to be complete b.s.

1. If linked to, it will contains words which are censored here, and will thus be consided by-passing the censors.

2. The article brings up, to paraphrase, forcing someone into sexual activities. That topic is not allowed here.

How incredibly pathetic is that? If you link to that article they will say "you are trying to bypass the censors" and probably get a 3 month ban for it.

As for not being able to talk about rape, I think that's pathetic as well. You have a forum because you want a place to be able to talk about the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but if they sign a complete p.o.s. player who's also a rapist you aren't gonna let people talk about that? I don't see any reason why the Bucs fans on that board should still be there, it's not like there aren't other Bucs forums on the web that will allow free discussion.

Since I don't belong to other fan boards (and this one seems to run very smoothly and have a great group of contributors) I'm probably not a good judge of what makes sense and what doesn't... but that crap seemed reduckulus. I especially like the part about censoring discussion as a "favor." Riiiggghhht?

What a friggin joke. What's funny is by censoring this kind of talk, they are actually making it worse. They're basically acknowledging that it's an issue that's indefensible, so this is their attempt to sweep it under the rug.

What hypocrisy. Start a fan website to express opinions and have discussions about the team, and then ban people for trying to talk about a real issue.

One more reason I like The Warpath.

The only other other blog I got to on a regular basis then this one is t4r.org (about 4runners).

Last week the lead mod basically their MAtty K said F it and unbanned all previous members and said there are no rules now. It was hillarous, now the whole web site is just people bitching at each other.

The other funny part is there is very little conflict on that site, so why the guy poped is beyond me.

Hey all, looks like some crazy stuff took place over the holiday weekend. I don't have time to read through all the whiny BS but suffice it to say I'm rather pissed off and annoyed by some of the stuff I read. This forum was started by Thai and myself as a fun little hobby, and I intend to keep it that way.

As far as I'm concerned Thai is welcome to come back as co-admin of T4R.ORG whenever he feels he has the time and interest to do so. If some of you have a problem with that, tough. I value my long friendship with Thai a hell of a lot more then I do the opinions of a few forum members.

I hope everyone will continue to enjoy the site while abiding by the forum rules. If you feel you cannot abide by the rules, then please enjoy some of the other excellent 4Runner sites - a simple google search will turn up several alternatives for you. Another option would be to start your own ****ing forum.

Lastly, for the time being, Rule #1 (see link to forum rules in my sig) will be strictly enforced and violators may be banned without additional warning (please consider this message the first and only warning).

It was a really funny battle when the other guy quit. Almost like an anarchy state for a while.

i used to be a moderator of a very heavily visited graffiti forum and its tough not taking things personal on some people and it also sucks b/c as a mod everyone is riding your jock trying to be your friend. . . .

the mods here do a good job of just being your average easy going informed poster and not on some high and mighty ego trip like another skins forum i wont mention.
