Shockey or ARE
Shockey is playing @ Denver
ARE is, well, you should already know, but here against Arizona. Who would you start in Fantasy? Leave your homerism off of this thread. |

Re: Shockey or ARE
Why is this a question? They hold too diffrent spots on a roster. You should be able to put ARE at WR and Shockey at TE.

Thanks for playing, you lose. BTW, I want to know why you would play that individual also. |

Re: Shockey or ARE
I'd go with ARE. Shockey just came off an injury and he didn't look the same. Also, Brees and him don't seem to have the chemistry thing yet.
Take last week for example, You could cleary see that Brees didn't look his way to much when he played us. That surprised me because I thought, with Colston down, Shockey was going to get thrown to at least 7 times that game. With ARE, we're playin an easy defense. I say easy because they really don't have any feared pass rushers, linebackers, or cornerbacks. They do have a safety thats alright, but the rest of their guys suck. Also with ARE, he's healthy and you know he's going to get targeted. Especially since he really is the second best wide reciever on this team right now. Thats my opinion. Good Luck! |

Re: Shockey or ARE
I'd go shockey. He's more likely to find the endzone, and with colston out, after losing last week you can bet they're working on getting him more involved in the offense this week. Probably a serious focal point.

Re: Shockey or ARE
Only upside to ARE would pe return yard points, but well I wouldn't sweat that too much.

Re: Shockey or ARE
Shockey's Season Stat line: 8 catches, 76 yards, 0 TDs
ARE's Season Stat line: 11 catches, 126 yards, 0 TDs, 5 punt returns, 21 yds 'Zona defense is ranked 7th, Denver's ranked 23rd. Shockey will create more mismatches than ARE this week. I'd go Shockey in the WR/TE flex spot.

I'd probably say Shockey has a much better chance to score a TD, while ARE is likely to have more yards. Brees and the Saints had a tough time getting the passing game going last week. The Skins knew they didn't have Colston and focused on keeping Shockey covered. Sean Payton loves to pass, and I think he'll find more creative ways to get the ball in Shockey's hands this week. Plus with Colston out, he's by far their best red-zone option with the pass. I think New Orleans' passing game is better than the Chargers, who torched the Broncos defense in Denver last week. I believe the Redskins can definitely score 4 TDs this week, but I don't see ARE getting any of them. Campbell hit 9 different receivers last weekend, with Moss and Cooley being most frequently targeted. I think he'll have 50-60 yards, but no score. I give the edge to Shockey for the greater potential to catch a touchdown.

Re: Shockey or ARE
Sometimes people look past the obvious. Like my TV doesn't work and you check a million things but come to find out it is not pluged in. This is where I was going with you because 99.9% of leagues make you have to play at least one TE.
With that said I would go with Shockey, after last weeks game I felt like Payton and Bree's were trying to get him more involved. Where as ARE is only good for like 4 catches and like 75 yards on his best days. Shockey can get in the end zone as well and since they have no short yardage RB even on the one they may look to Shockey. I like the Richard comment. I use to have a really mean boss and I nicked named him Richard Carnium.

Re: Shockey or ARE
Id look through the waiver wire. Neither player is a stud. Later in the year, I see Shockey picking it up.

After reading the insight from this thread, I think that I am going to stick with Shockey. If this bites me in the ass it's the majoritys' fault. |

Re: Shockey or ARE
Anyone and everyone who touches the ball should be started in that NO @ Denver game. It has shootout written all over it.

Re: Shockey or ARE
We are thin at WR so I would think ARE would get some good opportunities. Shockey might be the better choice down the line but I would go the EL this time.
