NFL loses Sunday Ticket Lawsuit
https://sports.yahoo.com/nfl-loses-s...225928049.html
NFL loses 'Sunday Ticket' trial, ordered to pay $4 billion by federal jury With antitrust law, the damages could increase to $12 billion The NFL has been ordered to pay $4.7 billion in residential class damages and $96 million in commercial class damages by a federal jury in a class action lawsuit filed against the league by subscribers to "NFL Sunday Ticket." The verdict was first reported by journalist Meghann Cuniff. The lawsuit argued that the NFL, its teams and its network partners (DirecTV, CBS, ESPN and Fox) violated antitrust rules by working together to limit competition and sell the out-of-market TV package at an inflated price.

Re: NFL loses Sunday Ticket Lawsuit
It will be interesting to see how appeal court handles it. Hopefully this is a first crack that will force NFL owners to reconsider how they distribute the games.

Good. Greedy bastards. I subscribed to NFL Ticket when we moved from MD years ago but wasn’t long before we cancelled because of exorbitant cost and Snyder wrecking our team. That said, if we become competitive again I may be willing to pay up again to watch.

Re: NFL loses Sunday Ticket Lawsuit
This wasn't worthy of a new thread. So this seemed like the most relative thread to put this in:
Judge blocks ESPN, Fox, Warner sports streaming venture Venu https://www.espn.com/espn/story/_/id...g-venture-venu I'd sign up for this and get rid of Fubo. So I can see why Fubo is suing. They wanted a sports only package but the companies that blocked them are just taking over. Also, no way Venu would keep the price anywhere near $42.99 for more than a year. Hell, it would probably be $99.99 in the not too distant future.

Re: NFL loses Sunday Ticket Lawsuit
I bet it still ends up being something substantial and not your run of the mill class action settlement

Re: NFL loses Sunday Ticket Lawsuit
I am still blown away that the NFL and it's lawyers somehow lost this case. So basically they lost because they only allowed Directv to sell the product and no other outlets?? You would have thought they had some verbiage somewhere that they got by with that from the beginning. Don't we have an attorney in this group? I'd love to hear their opinion.
