Who will lead Washington in sacks this coming year?

Armstrong, Payne seem like the obvious answer but could Quinn and Whitt move Luvu or Davis to end in pass rushing situations?

Ferrell is known as a quality DE who can rush but plays the run really well…maybe he plays on first down and then is replaced to a pass rusher. Fowler is old and I could see being replaced in his a pass rushing role

I can see Luvu being used in the Micah Parsons role here. He could be in for a big year sack wise.

Id go with Luvu also. He is going to be an absolute stud.

20 sacks in 6 years? How do you figure? I'm guessing Luvu is a nice player but one that is replaceable. I'm always skeptical if the absolute worst team in the league that isn't paying a Qb didn't want to pay him.

Apparently they did, but he wanted to come and play for Quinn.

Allen, I imagine he is energized by the coaches change.

That's not nice. We're talking about getting sacks, not taking them. So far, we have "won" the off-season and we're still in the overly optimistic phase. Can we all just get high on the Kool Aid and be happy for a little while longer? Please be kind and humor those of us who chugging pitchers of it.

I'd say Armstrong. Kid has put up good sack numbers recently. Have always liked his length and 1st step. Hopefully a bunch of Commanders will be getting tons of sacks.

There is no obvious 10+ sack candidate on the roster. I can see Allen/Payne getting between 5-10 but the rest are unknowns. If Luvu can be Parsons-lite he could break 10+ this year. I'd say it's a good year for Armstrong/Fowler/etc if they get between 5-10.

The style of play should lead to significantly more sacks, IMO. That combined with improved LB play and greater depth of competent Edge pass rushers. We may not have a player with 10 sacks but, if we do, I would guess that Armstrong would be that man.

What's better, 1 guy with 10+ sacks and no more than 2-3 from anyone else, or 5-7 guys with 5-10 sacks? If we can get 40+ on the year, that's an improvement at least. I'll take a group effort over 1 guy being the focus. That's why we zeroed in on Young instead of going BPA.

I don't know that it necessarily matters team-wise how it's broken down, we just want as many sacks as possible. Gotta up our numbers from last year. Just gotta find a way to get to about 3.0 sacks per game.

I feel like I get what you're saying, but it reads like this:

"What's better, a team that gets more sacks or a team that gets less sacks?"

I used 10 sacks as an example because generally it's a pretty good year if a rusher gets 10+ sacks. Just because you have one guy that gets 10+ sacks doesn't mean everybody else has to suck lol.

I'll be happy if we have 5+ guys that all get between 5-10 sacks, because that means we are getting consistent pressure as a team which is the goal.
