Re: Dan Snyders obsession ESPN story
Danny boy has done a lot of screwed up things since he's been owner. There has been much on the job training in his case but it does appear he's learned a few things along the way. Turning control of the team over to a GM like Allen and to the coach is the most valuable of these lessons and one I hope Jerruh never learns. Glad he's staying in the background where he belongs.

This may be a bridge to far, but I've always wondered if Snyder suffers from some form of bipolar disorder or, maybe more likely, Asberger's/autism. He's a guy who just really wants people to like him and to have friends, but because he has social difficulties, he sees money/power/celebrity as the only reliable way to achieve that goal. |

Re: Dan Snyders obsession ESPN story
I'm about anti-Snyder as they come, but is this even remotely relevant at this current point?
Answer: No Seth is about 3-4 years late on the Snyder hate.

Re: Dan Snyders obsession ESPN story
I am not a Dan Snyder fan. I don't think he's a good owner, and I do believe deep down that he cares more about making a profit than putting a winning product on the field.
HOWEVER: It appears that he truly has learned his lessons and has majorly done the right thing by finally letting the team have a GM that makes the decisions, etc. You look at the successful teams in the league and that's what you see. I won't attempt to make a judgement on the human/personal side of Dan Snyder, because I don't know the man. Everything that I have heard from people close to the team / players, etc, all say that Dan really is a nice guy behind the scenes, a loving family man, etc... I have heard it mentioned more than once that one thing Dan is obsessed with is having friends, being liked, etc.. and I also agree with the assesment that he may have some kind of personality disorder..

I don't think it was a Snyder hate piece. It's part of ESPN the Mag's DC feature in its latest issue
One thing I never understood is McKenna's frustration with the non-partner being relegated to the parking lot. He must not know how media works

Re: Dan Snyders obsession ESPN story
I thought it was fair in the end, he definately has taken a step back the last couple years. We all knew that about the players before also.

Re: Dan Snyders obsession ESPN story
Snyder has screwed up a lot in the past, I mean a lot. But he is staying out of the way now and is no longer messing the Skins up. Bottom line, that's all any fan can ask him to do.

Re: Dan Snyders obsession ESPN story
I'm no Crane brother, but from my observation he doesn't have any sort of disorder. Not even sure how that conclusion was reached

Re: Dan Snyders obsession ESPN story
And for some reason I have always pictured him swimming around in a pool of gold coins. Like in Mr. McDuck
