Wow, that was a real short meeting with Obama. For me he had to get sacked for trashing NATO, everything else I can maybe forgive but trashing NATO is a deal breaker. I hope his entire inner-staff gets sacked too.

He knew he was going to get relieved of his duties when he agreed to do the interview. He wanted to shed light on what's going on in Crapistan and with the Administration IMO.

Why is NATO the deal breaker. Pretty much everything they get involved with goes to shit in one way or the other.

Also his replacement is the guy who lead the surge in Iraq. You know the one that Obama was against and pretty much said it would not work. So now he is Obama's man. Boy how things change.

Yall reading too much into this. Look the Taliban are unbeatable. Plus on top of that Allah is pleased with the way they have been holding their ground and just rewarded them with a Trillion dollar retirement package.

Re: BREAKING: General McChrystal Relieved of His Duties

General McChrystal was basically granted carte blanche across the board by the Administration regarding AfPak policy, so much that President Obama sided with McChrystal on Afghan policy over Joe Biden and General Eikenberry. Also, McChrystal enjoyed a very cozy relationship with the Afghan government and President Karzai. So there's no way in hell he saw the writing on the wall and chose this as his exit. He was at the apex of a very distinguished military career.

It was a combination of bad judgement and believing his own press that was his undoing.

BreakingNews

June becomes deadliest month of Afghan war for NATO forces with 76 deaths, 46 of them American, according to AP count June deadliest month of Afghan war for NATO - Afghanistan- msnbc.com 5 minutes ago via breakingnews.com

Just repeating, when soldiers were dying in Iraq under Bush, the media screamed about each one, still in Afghanistan we barely hear a peep, even as a general is scapegoated.

All in all, I'll never understand those that don't see the double standard and hypocrisy of mainstream media, but I know this point won't open any eyes. Maybe the worst part of all the political banter that goes on on this site is the fact that in the end we all vent, but no one ever, or extremely rarely, changes their opinion. The death penalty debate was awesome dialogue, but did anybody change their mind. The Obama care thread, amazing research, discussion, etc, but I doubt anyone changed their point of view.

Really?

You should watch MSNBC more often, they rip on Obama all the time about the wars.
